Brown cats eyes shells are the operculum of a seashell. The operculum is like a door to the opening of the shell which closes as the mollusk retracts inside. The flat bottom side has a beautiful brown spiral. Red and green cat eye shells are also available. All three styles are traditionaly used as protective charms and are often turned into amulets.
