Fighting conch seashells can be found on sand and sea grass in ocean water up to thirty feet deep. They were given the name "fighting conch" because of their aggressive behavior and their ability to sting. This is not because they are predators but rather omnivores.
Their color varies from salmon-pink, cream, yellow, light orange or strong orange. The interior of the shell is usually white with a dark purple stain on the anterior.
