Green cat eyes are actually the operculum of a tapestry turbo sea shell. The operculum is like a foot and serves as a sort of trapdoor to close the mouth of the shell when the soft part of the animal is retracted. Green cat eye shells are easy to work with because the bottom white side is very flat. Red and brown are also available.
